We had a couple of busy days.
June 4 was filled with family. Rene and Ivan had all the kids and most of the grandchildren staying on the moshav. We were able to spend quality time with cousins. Glenn, Moira, Colin, Ivan and I were beginning a day out seeing Nazareth, the Galilee and more when Colin came down with a bout of motion sickness. We headed home so he could have a rest. During our misadventure Brandon headed out with his new cousins Orr, Tal, Lee, and Carmel to the Golan. They went cherry picking and had a delicious lunch. The kids were all smiles when they returned. They really hit it off!
Meanwhile on the Moshav, Oznat and I went for a walk around the moshav. She showed me a sculpture garden and a beautiful overlook.
Today, Brandon, Glenn and I headed to Akko. We enjoyed walking through the market and seeing the water. The old city is beautiful and filled with history. We are another delicious Israeli lunch.
We swapped boys with Ivan and went to the beach in Naharyia with Colin. The water was warm and a clear blue. It felt nice to the the sun on my face and the waves crashing around me.
We arrived home to Rene’s warm embrace and Bubby’s bubbly hello. Colin headed straight to the soccer cages and came home only long enough to make a plate for his dinner. He ate it hours later.
While the boys played soccer with other kids on the moshav, we went to spend more time with Tracy and Ari.
So far Israel isn’t disappointing. Between the beautiful setting, family and sights, we feel very fortunate for our experience.
