Last January we decided to get a puppy knowing that Maisie was getting older and we had limited time with her. Unfortunately, her decline was much faster than we expected. I though we would have 2 dogs for at least a year or two. We planned to go to Amelia Island for Spring break with Maisie and return to get Jake. Plans changed quickly. We dropped Maisie at the vet and said goodbye for ever. We realized through our heartache that we did the right thing by Maisie. She was in pain and not happy. Upon our return to Atlanta we picked up our new pup, Jake. The boys loved him as much as he loved them. He is a boy's dog!
The boys and I spent the summer bouncing between the pool and beach. Life was grand! I loved spending every moment with them and was happy when Glenn could join us at the pool after work. I also realized in this time, that the boys needed more structure than the beach and pool. This summer will be different.
The boys began Pre-K in August. It was unbelievable to watch them grow and change. Colin is now writing his name in the correct direction, most of the time. Brandon is beginning to read. He has such a strong will and desire. He will be reading before Kindergarten, I'm sure. Colin is motivated by playing. He is so incredibly creative. He is artistic and imaginative. I can't ever predict Colin's next move.
