Almost 4 Years Old

Today, May 30, 2013, we are about 10 days away from Brandon and Colin's 4th birthday. The boys got the biggest present anyone could ask for. Bigger than any toy or any thing. Their cousins, Poppy, Teddy, and Annie have come to visit. They will be here for a month visiting. We have spent the last 3 days doing nothing but playing with their cousins. They get along wonderfully! You would never know that they have not seen each other since the boys turned 1. (Teddy was almost 2) Now, they swim together, play together, laugh and build together. The boys are 3 peas in a pod. Poppy is wonderfully motherly with them. She exudes a sense of caring. She is so very similar to Rachel in that way. So the boys are used to their cousin loving on them. Annie only makes them smile. She always has had an amazing way with the boys from birth. Luckily she has come to visit about once each year. The boys LOVE their Annie. For family who lives nearly halfway around the earth, these kids all have a special bond. I'm so happy to see them play. I fear explaining to the boys that their cousins have to go home and we don't know when we will see them again.

Fall Fun

Fall 2010 has been a season of big changes with Brandon and Colin. We went on vacation to Boston for Thanksgiving where the boys had stranger anxiety settle in. They realized that they know Mom, Dada, Gama, and Gampa.

Two By Two

So I just logged into Blogger for the first time in a while. I saw 4 drafts. Here is the most recent from April 2011. In the end everything worked out fantastic. The boys began preschool and loved their first class... the Beatles, a 2 year old class. They learned how to recognize their names, how to sit at a table for a meal, how to get up when a meal was over and how to play the guitar for the dinosaur song.

In the 3 year old class, The Smart Cookies, the boys learned more about music and art. They began to develop a love for games, puzzles, and writing. They can now write their names and are beginning to read others' names as well. The boys grew by leaps and bounds in the 3 year old class.

It has been quite a while since we have blogged. Our lives have been turned upside down and back again. Last March we found out that our Nanny was pregnant. We had planed on sending the kids to school 3 days a week and having her 2 days. As time went on, we realized that the best decision for us was to send the kids to school 5 full days. Over the summer, I transitioned them by sending them to Kidzone each day for 2 hours. Basically it is gym babysitting in the same facility as their preschool.
